Anxiety, depression, relationship stress. We all face challenges, and we do the best we can with what we know, and what we have, in the moment.
I am a psychiatric mental health board-certified nurse practitioner. I attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham to complete my graduate degree. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse in the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit at the University of Birmingham Hospital. Committing to patient-centered care, I leverage my training and educational background to achieve optimal outcomes for my patients. I develop a treatment plan for each patient using evidence-based research. I work with a multidisciplinary team, putting the mental health and well-being of each patient first. I am committed to fostering a therapeutic environment that promotes trust, open communication, and collaboration between patients and their healthcare team. In addition to a physical assessment, a comprehensive mental health evaluation is also performed during the initial visit. A treatment plan is then developed based on the patient's short- and long-term objectives. Every strategy is tailored to the individual patient and may involve lifestyle modifications, medication management, and addressing physical health concerns.
Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed by the challenges and circumstances in your life? Have you experienced feelings of loneliness, depression, anxiety, sadness, or a lack of support when you needed someone to confide in? I understand these struggles, and I want you to know that it's perfectly okay to not be okay. I'm here to provide you with the tools and strategies you need to break free from negative thought patterns and self-defeating behaviors. Similar to regular physical check-ups, therapy serves as a preventive measure, equipping you with effective strategies to navigate moments of chaos, uncertainty, and everyday life. Together let's transform emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns for your desired outcomes. I support young adults, college students, and adults particularly those from BIPOC communities, facing depression, anxiety, and life transitions. My aim is to empower you, raise your self-awareness, and break down the barriers of mental health stigma. The first step is daunting yet essential. Therapy isn't weakness; it shows strength and courage to seek support. My priority is a nonjudgmental, safe space where you can freely express yourself. Remember, progress begins with putting one foot in front of the other, and soon enough, you'll be walking towards a brighter future.
As a therapist practicing for over 15 years, I thoroughly enjoy working with students as they learn to navigate life. Many times, it can be incredibly challenging to balance school, social relationships, jobs and other responsibilities. My goal as your therapist is to allow you to express your feelings in a non-judgmental and safe space, as well as provide you with skills to improve your overall quality of life. I work with adolescents, adults, as well as couples and families. Additionally, I specialize working with all aspects of eating disorders from anorexia to binge eating. Licensed in Arizona and North Carolina.
Healing begins when you feel heard, valued, and supported. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion and evidence-based care. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues, I provide a safe and supportive space to explore your emotions and develop practical tools for healing and growth. I work with individuals as well as couples and families and offer a sliding fee scale. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirmative, trauma-informed, neuroaffirmative, and culturally competent. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. Email or call today for your FREE-15 minute consult to make sure you feel like I am a good fit!
Overcoming – Healing – Thriving These three words encompass my goal for each person who walks through my door. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the problem. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside each of my clients, helping them overcome their struggles, heal from their pain, and thrive in their lives. I predominantly work with college aged and adult females experiencing: ● Depression and other mood disorders ● Anxiety ● ADHD ● Low self-esteem ● Conflict and communication ● Family and relationship challenges ● Trauma and grief
I work with clients—children, teens, or adults—who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of who they are becoming. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, identity questions, adoption-related challenges, trauma, grief, or big life transitions. They’re looking for a space where they can feel safe, understood, and supported. Their goal is to build resilience, strengthen emotional regulation, deepen connection, and feel more confident in their identity and relationships. They want to heal, grow, and rediscover a sense of possibility, and they’re seeking a therapist who can meet them with creativity, compassion, and curiosity. I help clients by offering a warm, creative space to explore emotions, strengthen identity, and build resilience. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, adoption, and LGBTQIA+ identity. Using expressive arts, MB-CBT, and trauma-informed approaches, I support healing, regulation, and confidence. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to begin, you’re not alone. I offer a supportive space for you or your child to heal and grow. When you’re ready, reach out for a free 15 minute consultation, and we can explore your next steps together. I’d be honored to walk with you on this journey.
Our approaches include strength based therapy, cognitive behavior therapies, creative approaches, EMDR, motivational interviewing, animal assisted interventions, and person centered approaches. Hi, I'm Dani, and I'm so happy you're here! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, and I am the owner + founder of New Perspectives Mental Health Serices, PLLC. My hope is that if you are reading this, you are ready to take the next step in your mental health journey. Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. Maybe you just started college and feel lost and overwhelmed or have just moved to a new city with no support system in place. You could be trying to decide what career will be the best fit, or maybe you feel confused after realizing that you don't want to continue in the career you chose several years ago. Oftentimes in early adulthood, relationships can also bring anxiety whether they be with friends, family, or romantic partners. Do you want to learn how to be your most authentic self while also managing life's stressors? Then I want to help! Although I specialize in working with clients ages 18-30, everyone is welcome to reach out to connect. Our work will be collaborative. My approach is integrative, but I lean heavily towards cognitive behavioral therapy. This means that we will spend a great deal of our time focusing on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. We will also work together to build new coping skills so that you are able to continue the work outside of the therapy "room." I strongly believe that every person's needs are different, and I am prepared to meet you where you are.

Everyone can benefit from therapy. How often in your day to day do you have an hour where you’re fully seen, heard, and encouraged? That’s what therapy should provide. Too often therapy is misrepresented and clients stigmatized as weak or ill when, in fact, the strongest thing you can do is seek help. Let me help you through your darkest of times or your day to day concerns. There is no issue too big or too small to conquer. I believe everyone has the capacity for self-healing and change and that my role as a counselor is to support clients on their journey towards healing. I'm passionate about helping others through the daily challenges of life and trauma. With special consideration of how power, oppression, and the collective unconscious affect our individual well-being. As a black queer Liberian-American woman I draw from my personal cultural background to encourage clients to embrace and reconcile their own identities and experiences as they heal.
I can help address needs of clients struggling with anxiety, depression, stress disorder, OCD, mood swings or psychotic symptoms. I have been seeing clients via Telehealth and all my clients like the comfort and flexibility of Telehealth for medication management. I am only running a Tele health based platform at this time and there are no in person visits. I have medical licence for states of Massachusetts and North Carolina.
