I am a clinical psychologist practicing in-person in Philadelphia PA and via Telehealth in Boston, MA. I work with adults with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, coping with medical illness, immigration stressors, self-esteem issues, and questions of identity. I believe I work particularly well with people who want to feel closer to themselves and others. In my practice, I focus on building a strong relationship based on trust, acceptance, and authenticity. I create a collaborative, warm, and non-judgmental space. As you put words to your thoughts and feelings and examine current and past experiences, we’ll gain insight into your unique ways of thinking, feeling, and relating. Recognizing emotions and patterns that have roots in the past can free you up to live a more full and meaningful life in the present. My therapeutic approach is primarily psychodynamic, and I also integrate other techniques that can help with more immediate symptom relief, such as acceptance-and-commitment therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Whether you want to address specific symptoms, cope with difficult realities in your life, or deepen your self-understanding, seeking therapy is an important decision. I understand that finding a therapist can feel daunting, and it's important to find someone who feels like a good match. If you're thinking about starting therapy, please feel free to reach out to me for an initial consultation. I would be happy to have a conversation with you about what you’re looking for and how I can help.

Many of the clients I see are dealing with some form of anxiety, depression, adjustment-related issue, or life transition. Most often, my clients are young adults who are having problems in interpersonal relationships, such as feeling extremely anxious in social situations, having difficulty finding or maintaining healthy relationships, struggling to communicate effectively with others, or experiencing uncertainty what their wants and needs are in a relationship. I have a great deal of experience working with students. My internship and postdoc were both in a university counseling center, and afterward, I was a psychology professor for a number of years. In these roles, I worked with both undergraduate and graduate students. Therefore, I'm very familiar with the challenges that students can face. Whatever it is that is getting in the way, I can help! I utilize evidence-based approaches and methods that have been proven to work. However, because there is no single approach that works for every person across all situations, I practice in a way that will be responsive to your unique needs. We may work on identifying problematic thoughts, putting new behaviors into action, or learning how to better identify, express, and manage your emotions. If your concern is relationship-related, we will explore your relationship patterns, identify factors that are having a negative impact on your relationships, and help you develop the skills to find and maintain healthy, fulfilling relationships. Regardless of the specifics, I place a prime emphasis on providing a safe, supportive environment that is free from judgment. My style has been described as highly collaborative.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. After ten years of experience in the field, I decided to open New Beginnings Therapeutic Services. My vision was to create a client-centered practice, that allows individuals to feel safe and comfortable from the second they step through the door. It is my goal to create a space for clients to share their most intimate thoughts and feelings, and for those thoughts to be received without judgment. We all make mistakes and struggle, but everyday is a New Beginning and a chance to create positive change in our lives. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other treatment modalities I assist client's in learning the tools they need to create lasting change in their lives. I know that sometimes finding a therapist can be challenging and anxiety provoking. Strong therapeutic rapport is the foundation for effective therapy, therefore I offer free consultations to aid in the decision making process. Call or e-mail me today and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience on staff in college counseling centers and in private practice. I work to form a trusting relationship with students so that they have a safe space to work through the challenges they are facing. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I am especially focused on providing inclusive, affirming care for students whose identities may not be represented or supported as well as they could be in the available campus resources - whether that be by virtue of sexuality and gender, or other facets of life experience. If you are feeling stuck academically or socially, struggling with mood or anxiety, trying to figure out who you are and your place at school and at home - I am here to help you find your way through it.

There’s a lot of things for you to worry about, but I hope therapy doesn’t have to be one of them. I want to offer a space where you can work through anxiety and worries in real time with a real person who listens, understands, and helps you sort through the noise. I’m not going to sit there and hand you advice you didn’t ask for. We’ll figure things out together. What’s behind the anxiety, how is it messing with your life, and what might actually help? The goal isn’t perfection. It’s feeling a little more in control, a little more like yourself. Life’s too short to feel stuck in your own head all the time. I want to help you get out into the world. To help you connect with people who actually make you feel good and to give you a chance to discover what is really important to you. With extensive experience working with people in their 20s and 30s, as well as those in the LGBTQ+ community, I’m here to support you through whatever life throws your way. Feel free to give me a call or email to discuss a consultation/scheduling. Or visit my website to learn more about what I have to offer.

Learning to set boundaries to lessen overwhelm, alter high expectations of self, and improve our self worth and identity is an area of consideration in which we can provide guidance and support. Furthermore, we specialize in relationships including family, work, peer and romantic, that can be altered in ways to promote health and increased well being.

Do you ever feel anxious and bothered by thoughts and emotions that make no sense? Do you have strong reactions and think "where did THAT come from?" You're not alone. Sometimes our brain holds on to experiences that were difficult or distressing from our past and during stressful moments, we get triggered by these seemingly unrelated thoughts and feelings. Together, we’ll explore unhelpful thoughts and emotions and develop new, effective ways of interacting with them that bring us Peace. I specialize in the treatment of adult survivors of childhood trauma. You will explore your “trains of thought” and learn how you can switch tracks and feel safer, happier, and more in control of your life. Virtual only. Hope, healing, and joy. For me, these are the three core values I hold closely when approaching my work in therapy. Life can be full of unpredictable challenges and facing them alone can feel extremely heavy and burdensome. My hope is that through therapy, clients can feel comfortable enough to share their hardships, and in doing so, lighten the heaviness of their burdens. Through a warm, person-centered approach, I hope to create a space where individuals feel heard and supported. I believe no one deserves to struggle alone, and I commit to being a supportive presence to help individuals work towards a path of healing and joy. As a therapist, my ultimate goal is to help individuals feel empowered to live a fulfilling life in alignment with their goals and values. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and adjustment difficulties. I also love helping people work through identity exploration and self-discovery. If these challenges resonate with you, I would be honored to work together on a path forward that feels supportive and impactful for you!
