We have been taught that emotions are not meant to be felt but rather controlled. To hide the bad ones and only show the good ones. That sitting in them for too long means we are either dramatic, obsessive, or abnormal. If you have ever been told, either by others in your life or you yourself, that your emotions are too much or too complicated, I would like to say, “I hear you, and I am here for you.” In our sessions I would like to provide you with an environment where your emotional expression is celebrated and not reprimanded as I believe we can begin to heal once we have allowed ourselves to fully feel, without judgment or policing. Whether that is guilt, shame, sadness, anger, grief, anxiousness, and anything in between, we can work on processing them together at your own pace. I know that starting therapy can be a daunting and overwhelming task. However, getting the help you deserve and finding a therapist that fits your needs is already the first step!
If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or lost - I can help. You may be experiencing a major shift in your life or identity. Maybe you feel trapped by your circumstances, or even by your family. Therapy can be a great step towards learning the factors that led to your current situation, and the steps you can take to chart a new path. I am skilled at seeing things from multiple perspective and helping others do the same. I can offer compassion, and a new lens through which to view your life and your situation. I have training, education, and experience, but you are the expert on yourself. I will help you find your own solutions and perspectives to move forward.
Hello neurodivergent folks! If you've been diagnosed or curious about ADHD, Autism, OCD, or identify as a sensitive person, welcome! My clinical background is in disordered eating and body acceptance from a body liberation lense. I am passionate about radical self acceptance, self compassion, and human rights. I am the ideal therapist for you if you: can meet during the day, swear, want consistency, and if you want to strengthen your instincts. Feeling our feelings is sometimes uncomfortable, so I believe in collaborating with you to help you remember your wise, resilient self is safe. My special interests include ADHD, AUDHD, anxiety, Intuitive Eating, life transitions, fat liberation, and somatic work. I practice therapy from a decolonized lens. Prioritizing your needs and creating a safe space for you is always my first goal. With over ten years of clinical experience, I recognize how academic stress can affect young adults. These challenges often impact individuals uniquely, depending on their backgrounds and identities. In therapy, I customize my approach to equip you with the tools and support necessary to reclaim balance and focus on your academic and social pursuits. Together, we will create a space to address these challenges.
I work with students and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, and dealing with the undergoing changes of going to college or starting full time work. I offer therapy without judgment, I am here to help you challenge the critic in your mind telling you that you're doing everything wrong and that everyone is judging you all the time. I use a mix of cognitive and behavioral approaches to help you learn ways to change how you think about yourself and the world around you. I help by providing a nonjudgmental space and time for you to process through the thoughts that are troubling you and the worries you have. I am available to see clients in Illinois and Indiana.
I appreciate the courage it takes to seek help. I specialize in working with young adults to gain mastery over their problems. I work with you at your own pace. My therapy approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy, client centered, reality, focusing and family systems therapy.

Hey! My name is Elena, I use she/her pronouns, and I work with rebels, rioters, and revolutionaries. My practice is one that centers and celebrates authenticity, courageous exploration, and a collaborative, therapeutic relationship. In practice, this can look like taking the time to build trust and connection, pulling from a wide variety of modalities, and curiosity and silliness when needed (which I believe is often!) I have seen many therapists feel the need to rush into “fixing”; in my work, there is no rush and there is no “fixing”. Together, we will sit in the messy experience of being human; exploring and learning from our pain while uplifting and celebrating the joys. We will co-create your therapy experience, making it into whatever you need it to be in order to feel as safe as possible. I bring an anti-oppression and decolonization lens to the work of therapy, as this helps to ensure that I do my best to mitigate the harmful impacts of these systemic issues in the healing space. I will certainly make mistakes. I hope you do, too! These are opportunities for both of us to practice collective learning, unlearning, and healing. I believe that therapy is community. We may share certain identities and there will be those we do not share, yet it remains a community. Let's be in joyous community together!
