I believe that therapy should be a space where you don't have to perform, explain, or minimize your feelings, no matter your reason for reaching out. As a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I welcome clients with diverse identities and concerns, and strive to create a safe, compassionate environment where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma/complex PTSD, including survivors of assault/abuse. I also support clients navigating life transitions, identity-related challenges, relationship concerns, emotional dysregulation, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, and academic/workplace challenges. Since there's no one-size-fits-all in healing, our work together will be tailored to your unique needs and a pace that feels safe, supportive, and sustainable for you. This can include processing difficult experiences, building insight, developing practical coping strategies, and fostering self-compassion, resilience, and a stronger sense of self. As a Harvard-trained researcher, my therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based care, integrating cognitive behavioral, dialectical, somatic, psychodynamic, and narrative interventions to help you create lasting, meaningful change. I look forward to supporting you in your journey towards a life that feels more grounded, fulfilling, and authentic.
I am a LICSW with over fifteen years of experience where I collaborate with clients to discover a resiliency within themselves. My most rewarding experiences have been with young adults who may be just beginning or those returning to college and managing the challenges that arise. I work with individuals who may experience a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, adjusting to life transitions and those impacted by trauma and systems of oppression. I bring warmth, compassion and sometimes humor to our conversations and enjoy working with individuals who are interested in understanding more about themselves and how they move through the world.
For nearly 15 years, I worked as a high school teacher, advisor, dean, and administrator. Working with adolescents was fun, rewarding, and dynamic. As a social worker, I have worked in college settings, residential substance use treatment, and a community mental health clinic. I have significant clinical experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use, and specialize in working with adolescents, college students and emerging adults. I bring a particular appreciation for the stage of life between childhood and full adulthood, an understanding of the pressures of this age range, and a wealth of experience helping people navigate the challenges of growing up. I feel comfortable working with people of all identities and backgrounds. I specialize in supporting adolescents and young adults, Jewish and other faith communities, and older adults. I strive to be culturally competent and curious as I learn about another person. I believe everyone needs to be heard and helped regardless of religion, creed, or political beliefs.
I specialize in providing therapy to students who are experiencing life transitions and/or have been impacted by serious illness and/or chronic illness in their lives. Therapy is focused on helping you as you adjust, cope and navigate your unique situation by providing support and guidance. I utilize a variety of modalities including, Cognitive-behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfullness, Grief Therapy and others to tailor each session to your needs.

Drawing on the tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dr. Nestor takes an evidence-based, client-centered approach to therapy to foster coping skills and promote individual flourishing. Dr. Nestor provides individual therapy for older adolescents and young adults with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, executive dysfunction, social difficulties, stress, chronic pain, grief, and challenges related to life transitions. In my practice I work with older adolescents and adults, focusing on personal awareness, empowerment, building skills for navigating life stressors, and enriching personal relationships. I have over 15 years of experience working in the areas of addictions, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship development. Together we will explore patterns and choices that contribute to your accomplishments and struggles. We will work towards self-awareness while remaining solution-focused, and will use the strengths you already possess to build more skills for managing the challenges that life brings.
We know it can be tough making the first step to find support. Our practice specializes in working with LGBTQ folks, including those in non-monogamous relationships and people living with HIV/AIDS. Our team currently consists of queer identified therapists and we will help you lay the groundwork to make positive changes that will serve to enrich your life. We work collaboratively with our clients on identifying changes they want to see in their lives and taking steps towards those changes. Do you find you struggle with self confidence? Do you often feel dysphoric about your gender? Our team can help.
As we grow and develop life throws at us a series of experiences and challenges. We learn to navigate our environment and relationships through these experiences. As a therapist I have the utmost respect for the ways in which people have approached their lives. It is not my goal to tell someone how to live. My role is to provide a relationship and a dedicated time to think openly about your experience. Sometimes we lose sight of the meaning and spend time trying to convince ourselves of something that may no longer fit. Through empathy and playfulness, I hope to create a space in which people feel safe to explore new ways of being and thinking. I am interested in both what you say and how you say it: the lyrics and the music. We will work together to find new ways of making meaning out of what life offers. In our first meeting I will be very curious to learn about your life and the challenges you are experiencing. We will discuss how you approach your life and identify ways in which you may struggle and succeed in facing difficulties. I will share feedback with you towards the end of the session and spend time planning future steps. I have worked in college and university mental health centers for over 10 years and look forward to continuing my work with students in my private practice.
Welcome! As a licensed independent clinical social worker, I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, care giver support, identity exploration, and life transitions in adults. I work with adults of all ages, ranging from students and young professionals to aging adults. I have experience in brief treatment, college mental health, and outpatient therapy. I give space for clients to feel heard, understood, and empowered. Clients engage in introspection and reflection on their present and past selves, relationships, and communities. People are resilient and resourceful, and I value learning and meeting clients where they are at. Throughout my life I have always strived to promote mental health whether listening to a friend, advocating for clients and families, supporting a caregiver, or volunteering for local organizations. Mental health truly affects people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. I aim to develop a safe and inclusive environment for all. I will create a personalized treatment plan that meets your specific needs, utilizing a collaborative, eclectic, person-centered, solution-focused, and strength-based approach. I am committed to building a partnership rooted in compassion and warmth, guiding clients toward self-discovery and growth. I help clients navigate identity exploration, trauma, grief, relationship challenges (familial or intimate), and major life transitions—like adjusting to adulthood or stepping into a more authentic sense of self. These liminal, in-between stages can be tricky to navigate and are often marked by anxiety, depression, or a fragmented sense of self, leaving folks feeling emotionally untethered. While we must lead ourselves to authenticity, it can help to have a thoughtful, attuned guide who walks alongside us—offering new perspectives, practical coping skills, and questions that gently challenge deep-rooted assumptions. I enjoy working with young adults on the precipice of independence, older adults facing aging-related transitions, couples, and folks with marginalized or liminal (Biracial, Bicultural, nonbinary, genderqueer, etc.) identities. Together, we reduce fear, shame, and relational distress, while cultivating authenticity, inner wisdom, and emotional resilience. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable and unfamiliar. If you're unsure whether we'd be a good fit, I'm happy to meet with you, answer any questions, and elaborate on my approach to therapy. You're not alone in taking this first step—and you don’t have to do it without support. I provide therapy through Intersect Clinical Services, a preferred provider for Boston-area students. We accept UHC StudentResources and Aetna Student Health with minimal or no out-of-pocket costs.
