I am a seasoned psychotherapist with over 20 years experience. I help people to rapidly get to the core issues which keep them stuck in their lives, be it difficulties in their relationships or chronic depression/anger/anxiety, to name a few. The avoidance of painful thoughts/feelings, either from past or recent events is what creates suffering. When we avoid these painful experiences, we develop symptoms or problems. The treatment approaches I use are evidence-based, meaning they've been researched, tested, and proven to work. My work integrates somatic experiencing, attachment and psychodynamic theory, and CBT. I take Aetna insurance, but not Aetna EAP.

Similar to climbing a mountain, in therapy you choose to take a risk; inviting someone else to join your climbing team to help you along the way. Individuals struggling with suicidal ideation can come to The Hope Institute for treatment, to increase hope, and obtain the ability to safely wait for ongoing outpatient care, when needed. Our approach is unique, as it is based in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), two of the most effective, evidence-based models currently available for treating suicidality. With the use of CAMS and DBT, the clinician and client will work together to solve problems. CAMS is an evidenced-based therapeutic framework for suicide-specific assessment and treatment of a patient’s suicidal risk. Each session of CAMS intentionally utilizes the patient’s input about what is and is not working. All assessment work in CAMS is collaborative; we seek to have the patient be a “co-author” of their own treatment plan (CAMS-care, 2024). DBT is a type of talk therapy that gives clients skills in regulating their emotions, tolerating distress, maintaining healthy relationships, practicing mindfulness and thinking from perspectives other than their own. THI is home to multiple clinicians who are certified and trained in CAMS and DBT. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based behavior focused treatment intended to help clients build a life worth living while reducing suicidal and self-harming behaviors. Parent and teen groups are available. DBT groups provide clients with five core skills to manage intense emotions and enhance day-to-day life: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and dialects.
me: In a relational, humanistic, and conversational style, and through an attachment-oriented lens, I am focused on harnessing the powerful dynamic of the therapeutic relationship, in order to help individuals locate within themselves a sense of meaning and purpose in the here and now. I am focused on developing each client’s ability to maintain internal validity and positive self-regard, in order to reduce self-shame, self-judgement, and self-harm. you: While I work with individual adults of all ages, most of my clients tend to be 25-45, and coming to therapy to work through a variety of human challenges and stressors often associated with complications that occur in the life-stage transitions from adolescence to early adulthood and early adulthood into middle age. For many of us, these life-stage transitions are often extended and/or delayed, leading to feelings of pscyho-emotional paralysis and “stuckness” in repeated patterns of behavior. My practice is also further specialized in working with performing artists and other creative/artistic professionals. The intersectionality of psycho-emotional health and creative identity/artistic process is an area of experience and particular interest to me. Having trained and worked professionally as an actor, prior to earning a master’s degree in clinical social work, I am deeply focused on using the shared language of artistic development to help other artists utilize the many tools and skills they’ve already developed for self-reflection and craft honing as artists, in order to help them create growth, change, and fulfillment in their personal and professional lives. Although many of my clients meet diagnostic criteria for depression, trauma, and anxiety, I aim to see people beyond the diagnosis and view them as the whole human beings they are. us: Together, we will have a meaningful relationship intended to support and foster your personal growth, resilience, healing, and ability to create internal validity, as well as meaning and purpose in the moment. Our relationship exists within the context and framework of weekly, or bi-weekly, 45-minute conversations, focused on examining all aspects of how your pscyho-emotional health and wellbeing correspond to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. No human is broken. We are all operating in the exact way the human system was intended to operate, by adapting; sometimes for the better, and other times to our own detriment. We are all the logical conclusion of the sum of our total experiences. Therefore, we will work jointly to piece together your narrative in a way that connects the total sum of your experiences to your present thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns, in order to learn to move forward, create change, and become the future self that is still yet unrealized.

Above all, I want you to feel empowered to explore, to question, and to grow. This journey is yours, and I'm here to walk alongside you, offering support, guidance, and a little bit of encouragement when you need it most. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, the complexities of life transitions and more. You might be struggling with unhelpful thought patterns, emotional overwhelm, or difficult dynamics with others—or maybe you're just feeling stuck and not sure why. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and build meaningful steps toward the life you want to live. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you reconnect with the strength that’s already within you. Real change begins in a space that feels safe, supportive, and real. That’s what I aim to create: a place where you can be fully seen, heard, and supported. I show up as a real person in the therapy room—with empathy, warmth, and curiosity. My approach is active, collaborative, and inclusive, grounded in values like self-compassion, empowerment, and nonjudgmental awareness. I strive to strike a balance between being supportive and gently challenging, so you feel encouraged to grow at your own pace. In our first session, we’ll take time to understand who you are, what you’re experiencing, and how your past has shaped your present. I take a holistic view, honoring your individuality, identity, and lived experiences. Together, we will design a treatment plan grounded in evidence-based practices that may include CBT, ACT, DBT or EMDR, empowering you with tangible tools to support your healing and create lasting change.
