Therapy for BIPOC & First-Generation College Students: Moving Past Guilt, Trauma, and Overwhelm.

You're trying to navigate academics, social life, and the unique challenges of being a BIPOC or first-generation student. Too often, it feels like you're trying to do it with one hand tied behind your back.

🏫 Making it to college should feel like the world is opening up for you, yet you constantly feel like you're running on empty. On the outside, you look together and accomplished. But underneath, you feel drained, overwhelmed, and burdened by expectations—from professors, friends, and your family.

Does any of this sound familiar?

âś… Feeling like you are constantly performing or "masking" just to fit in on campus.
âś… Saying "no" to family or friends feels impossible because of the intense guilt that follows.
âś… You constantly battle focus, organization, and attention, and you wonder if it might be more than just "college stress."
âś… Experiencing emotional ups and downs (like anxiety or depression) that feel bigger than the situation warrants.
âś… Feeling like your stress is rooted in a deeper history of chronic difficulty, not a single recent event.

I see you, and I'm here for you. As a therapist, my mission is to help you feel seen and transform that constant overwhelm into clear, purposeful action.

I use approaches like trauma-informed care to give you concrete skills for managing emotions, setting healthy boundaries, and finally feeling like you're enough.
